Galeatea - Diamonds in Dalton

Galatea was established in 2004 by young Israeli entrepreneurs Heim Shlezenger and Ran Ziskind. The fledgling company developed patented technology for the optimal planning of rough diamonds through the accurate detection of “inclusions” (flaws).

Drawn to the quality of life in the Galilee and the comfortable facilities and conditions in the Dalton Industrial Park, the start-up company took offices in the park in 2005.

The company grew rapidly, successfully promoting their innovative technology. In 2008 Galatea was purchased by Sarine Technologies, a market leader in the field of equipment for the diamond industry.  With Sarine’s purchase of the company,  Galeatea’s technology was perfected from prototype to commercial reality whereby the the Galaxy™ system was launched in 2009. As the company developed and grew, Galeatea chose to expand into the industrial space provided in the Dalton Industrial Park.

Today, the company has added additional models for specific stone sizes and scanning accuracy, developing and producing in the Dalton Industrial Park. The company employs a highly-skilled workforce of some 30 engineers, all of whom live locally in rural communities and small towns.

Galeatea’s products were integrated into Sarine’s capabilities, progressing the company’s global leadership in diamond planning still further. This unique technology has been established as the world’s leading (and currently only) automated solution for inclusion mapping and has been adopted by leading manufacturing plants worldwide.
