MEDIGUS - THE WORLD'S SMALLEST CAMERA IN OUTER-SPACE
Founded in 2000, Medigus is an Israeli medical device company dedicated to the development of innovative endoscopic procedures and technologies.
The founder and then CEO- Dr. Elazar Sonnenschein, a resident of Omer, moved the start-up company to the Omer Industrial Park in 2003. Medigus has been traded on the TASE (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange) since 2006.
Medigus is a pioneer developer of a unique proprietary endoscopic device for the treatment of GERD, one of the most common chronic diseases in the western world.
The Company’s revolutionary MUSE™ system enables endoscopists to performing a fundoplication procedure through the mouth, without the need for abdominal incisions.
In addition, based on its proprietary technologies, Medigus designs and manufactures technology for medical and other industries. The company recently announced the incorporation of Medigus’ micro ScoutCam 1.2, the world’s smallest camera, into the NASA VIPIR robotic tool, to be used for experiments on the International Space Station.
The company has 40 employees, mostly of whom are located in Omer in the company’s research and development department.
